The tour's first stop is Madaba, an ancient town that was mentioned in the Bible at the time of Exodus in about 1200 BC. The city is best known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics and is home to the famous 6th century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. It depicts hills and valleys, and villages and towns as far as the Nile Delta.
Mt. Nebo is located 10 km west of the Roman Byzantine town of Madaba. The most sacred site in Jordan, its first church was built in the late 4th century. The tour then proceeds to the magnificent Crusader Fortress of Kerak to visit the Kerak Castle, which dates back to the Mamluk period. The trip ends with a tour of Petra.
