Queen Alia International Airport-expansion
The Airport is named after Queen Alia, the third wife of King Hussein of Jordan.
QAIA expansion project the transaction will include engineering, procurement and construction of a new terminal building based upon a Foster and Partners design, at an IATA level of service. The construction of the new terminal is expected to consist of two phases.
The airport expansion plan was part of a drive to make Jordan a regional hub and once it is completed, Queen Alia International Airport should be able to handle around thirteen million passengers a year, nearly three times as many as its current capacity.
